12日の東京株式市場で日経平均株価は反発し、前日比255円75銭（1.17％）高の２万2187円96銭で終えた。外国為替市場での円安進行や中国・上海株式相場の上昇を受けて投資家心理が改善。自動車など輸出関連株の一部に見直し買いが入った。米中貿易摩擦への警戒が残るなか、悪影響を受けにくい内需株やディフェンシブ銘柄が物色されたのも相場全体を押し上げた。
トランプ米政権が中国に対する2000億ドル分の追加措置案を公表したのを材料に、前日まで日経平均先物を売っていた短期スタンスの投資家が買い戻しに動いた。ソフトバンクが10日連続で上昇するなど主力の値がさ株が買われ、現物株指数の上昇に寄与した。日経平均の上げ幅は一時300円を超えたが、チャート分析上の上値抵抗水準とされる75日移動平均（２万2200円台前半）付近では利益確定目的の売りが出て上値が抑えられた。
ＪＰＸ日経インデックス400は反発。終値は前日比70.56ポイント（0.47％）高の１万5159.56だった。東証株価指数（ＴＯＰＩＸ）も反発し、7.80ポイント（0.46％）高の1709.68で終えた。
東証１部の売買代金は概算で２兆3081億円。売買高は11億9258万株だった。東証１部の値上がり銘柄数は1181と、全体の約56％を占めた。値下がりは820、変わらずは98だった。
ファーストリテイリングのほか、エーザイも高い。14時に2018年３～５月期決算を発表したユニー・ファミリーマートホールディングスも買われた。一方、東京エレクトロンや村田製作所が安い。原油相場の下げが嫌気され、国際石油開発帝石などの鉱業や石油株の下げが目立った。
12日の新興企業向け株式市場で、日経ジャスダック平均株価は反発した。終値は前日比11円47銭（0.30％）高の3785円08銭だった。中国・上海株や香港株が上昇し、投資家心理がやや改善。運用リスクをとりやすくなった投資家が日本の新興企業株にも買いを入れた。米中貿易摩擦への懸念は根強く、外需銘柄よりも小売りを中心とした内需銘柄への物色が目立った。
ジャスダック市場の売買代金は概算で466億円、売買高は7319万株だった。外食のマクドナルドや100円ショップのセリアが上昇。眼鏡専門店のビジョナリーも上げた。一方、フォーサイドやメイコーは下落した。
東証マザーズ指数は３日ぶりに反発した。終値は前日比10.32ポイント（1.00％）高い1040.02だった。時価総額の大きいミクシィやサイバダインが上昇した。上場３日目のＭＴＧは続伸。一方、今期が減益になる見通しと発表したＧａｍｅＷｉｔｈは売りに押された。サマンサタバサも下げた。
