６日の米国株安を嫌気した売りが一巡すると、外国為替市場で円相場が対ドルで107円近くまで伸び悩んだのを好感し買いが優勢となった。花王や資生堂など業績が景気動向の影響を受けにくいディフェンシブ銘柄には国内外から資金が流入した。
米中貿易摩擦への警戒感も後退した。午前の取引終了後に「中国の政府系シンクタンクの研究員が、中国が米国債を処分する公算は極めて小さいと話した」と一部の海外通信社が報じ、米中の対立が和らぐとの期待を高めた。
ＪＰＸ日経インデックス400は反発した。終値は前週末比57.82ポイント（0.38％）高の１万5271.88だった。東証株価指数（ＴＯＰＩＸ）も反発し、6.58ポイント（0.38％）高の1725.88で終えた。
東証１部の売買代金は概算で２兆2652億円。売買高は13億9023万株だった。東証１部の値上がり銘柄数は1117、値下がりは873、変わらずは91銘柄だった。
不動産株が高く、住友不動産や三菱地所、三井不動産が上昇した。Ｔ＆ＤホールディングスとＭＳ＆ＡＤインシュアランスグループホールディングスも上げた。一方、安川電機やキーエンス、ファナックは下落した。楽天とソフトバンクも安かった。
９日の新興企業向け株式市場で、日経ジャスダック平均株価は小幅に続落した。終値は前週末比44銭（0.01％）安い3982円95銭だった。10日以降の新規株式公開（ＩＰＯ）をにらみ、既上場銘柄を売却し新規上場銘柄への投資に備える動きが優勢となった。もっとも、午後になると時価総額の大きい外食のマクドナルドが上昇幅を拡大したほかエン・ジャパンが上げに転じ、日経ジャスダック平均は上昇に転じる場面もあった。
ジャスダック市場の売買代金は概算で649億円、売買高は8927万株だった。半導体製造装置部品のフェローテックホールディングスや100円ショップのセリアが下げた。一方、産業用小型プリンターの日本プリメックスが大幅高。セルフレジ普及が追い風との見方から個人投資家の買いが集まった。試薬の免疫生物研究所や創薬ベンチャーのラクオリア創薬も上げた。
東証マザーズ指数は反発した。終値は前週末比3.96ポイント（0.34％）高い1182.78だった。貸会議室のＴＫＰや創薬ベンチャーのサンバイオが上げ、指数を押し上げた。一方、携帯ゲームのミクシィは下落。創薬ベンチャーのそーせいグループは横ばいだった。
