24日の東京株式市場で日経平均株価は反発し、前日比129円70銭（0.66％）高の１万9742円98銭で終えた。23日の米国株高や為替の円安・ドル高を受け、金融や輸出関連株に買いが入った。買い一巡後は円相場の下落に一服感が出たこともあり、伸び悩んだ。
日経平均は午前中に１万9782円まで上昇し、前日比の上げ幅は170円に迫った。急落前の17日の取引時間中の安値１万9764円を上回り、日足のローソク足チャート上の空白の価格帯「窓」を埋めた。
買い一巡後は朝方に外国為替市場で１ドル＝112円近辺まで進んだ円相場の下落に一服感が出たのをきっかけに、日本株には短期的な利益確定の売りも出て、上げ幅を縮小した。
米国で24日に米連邦公開市場委員会（ＦＯＭＣ）議事要旨の発表を控えている。25日には石油輸出国機構（ＯＰＥＣ）総会があり、重要イベント前に午後は積極的な売買を見送る投資家が多く、方向感に乏しい展開だった。
ＪＰＸ日経インデックス400は反発した。終値は前日比77.08ポイント（0.55％）高の１万4050.51だった。東証株価指数（ＴＯＰＩＸ）も反発し、9.89ポイント（0.63％）高の1575.11で終えた。
東証１部の売買代金は概算で２兆2226億円。売買高は17億2823万株だった。東証１部の値上がり銘柄数は1427と、全体の約７割を占めた。値下がりは466、変わらずは123銘柄だった。
東芝が大幅に上昇した。米アマゾン・ドット・コムと中小企業の米国向け輸出を支援すると報じられた日通も上昇した。任天堂や富士通、楽天、パナソニックは年初来高値を更新した。一方、ＮＴＴやＮＴＴドコモなどの通信株は下落した。ＯＬＣやＪＡＬも安く、ユニチャームと花王も下げた。
24日の新興企業向け株式市場で、日経ジャスダック平均株価は４日続伸した。終値は前日比19円27銭（0.62％）高の3147円14銭で1991年７月１日以来、約25年11カ月ぶりの高値を連日で更新した。アパレル企業の子会社化を発表したＲＩＺＡＰの傘下企業の株価がそろって上昇するなど、個別材料に反応した買いが目立った。
ジャスダック市場の売買代金は概算で580億円、売買高は9972万株だった。人気ゲームの大型企画を予告したブロッコリーが大幅に上昇し、開発薬の特許取得見込みを発表したラクオリアはストップ高となった。マクドナルドは14日続伸した。半面、アエリアやエンジャパンが下落した。
東証マザーズ指数は４日続伸した。終値は前日比10.22ポイント（0.95％）高い1088.10だった。ＡＳＪは連日で制限値幅の上限（ストップ高水準）まで買われた。ＮＴＴドコモとの提携を発表したじげんが高い。ドリコムやメタップスも上昇した。一方、リミックスは利益確定売りが優勢だった。主力株のミクシィとそーせいは午後に下げに転じた。
東証２部株価指数は４日続伸した。マルコとセメダインが上げ、シャープと朝日インテクは下げた。
