12日の東京株式市場で日経平均株価は続伸し、前日比74円31銭（0.33％）高の２万2878円35銭で終えた。米朝首脳会談が朝鮮半島の安定につながるとの期待から、海外の商品投資顧問（ＣＴＡ）やヘッジファンドなどが株価指数先物を通じて買いを入れた。両首脳が実際に合意文書に署名してから大引けにかけては伸び悩んだが、朝方には取引時間中として５月22日以来３週間ぶりに２万3000円台に乗せる場面もあった。
重要イベントに焦点を定めて運用する「イベントドリブン」型の海外投資家が、北朝鮮の非核化を巡る米朝会談での進展を先回りする形で買いを入れた。ただ、その結果を見極めたいとの雰囲気も強く、朝方の取引が一巡すると模様眺めムードから相場は膠着感を強めた。
後場中ごろには米朝首脳が合意文書に署名した。合意の一報が伝わると強含む場面があったが、一時的な動きにとどまった。取引時間中には合意の具体的な内容が分からず、大引けにかけて広がった利益確定売りが上値を抑えた。
ＪＰＸ日経インデックス400も続伸。終値は63.38ポイント（0.40％）高の１万5848.58だった。東証株価指数（ＴＯＰＩＸ）も続伸し、5.98ポイント（0.33％）高の1792.82で終えた。
東証１部の売買代金は概算で２兆3089億円、売買高は12億3809万株だった。東証１部の値上がり銘柄数は1126と、全体の５割強を占めた。値下がりは858銘柄、変わらずは105銘柄だった。
ファーストリテイリングや任天堂が上げた。ソフトバンクとＪＴが上昇し、日本電産の値上がりが目立った。一方、トヨタやソニーは下落。東京エレクトロンやＳＵＭＣＯなど半導体関連の一角が下げた。
12日の新興企業向け株式市場で、日経ジャスダック平均株価は４日続伸した。終値は前日比21円03銭（0.53％）高の3973円26銭とほぼ３週ぶりの高値だった。米朝首脳会談への期待から投資家心理が上向き、日経平均株価が上昇した。新興企業株にも資金流入が続き、ジャスダック平均は徐々に上げ幅を広げた。時価総額の大きい銘柄を中心に買いが優勢となった。
ジャスダック市場の売買代金は概算で699億円、売買高は１億2731万株だった。マクドナルドや100円ショップのセリアが高い。ＳＡＭＵＲＡＩ＆Ｊ ＰＡＲＴＮＥＲＳやテリロジー、Ｓｈｉｎｗａ Ｗｉｓｅ Ｈｏｌｄｉｎｇｓも上昇した。半面、ハーモニック・ドライブ・システムズやフェローテックホールディングスは下落した。
東証マザーズ指数も４日続伸した。終値は前日比16.62ポイント（1.47％）高の1148.07だった。ＡｐｐＢａｎｋやＣＹＢＥＲＤＹＮＥ、サンバイオが上昇した一方、ＵＮＩＴＥＤやミクシィ、ＪＭＣが下落した。
